Definition.
Physical education or PE, also known in many countries as physical training,is an educational course related to the physique of the human body. It is taken during primary and secondary education and encourages psycomotor learning in a play or movement exploration setting to promote health.
Although it is impossible to kanow for sure, it is usually considered that wrestling and boxing were the first sports every played. Competitions using the simple mode of human transport, running, would also have been among the first sports played.
Competitions involving hitting, kicking, throwing a ball like object, as well as sports related to hunting and throwing would also be expected to have be played in early times.
There are many sports that have developed as competitions from means of early transportation, such as horse riding and canoeing, and fdrom military activities such as archery.
At the first recorded ancient Olimpic Games in 760 BC, there was only one event, a foottrace. Later Games included other events such as wrestling, boxing, equestrian, idscus, javelin, and jumping. From around the same time, the only sport mentioned in the Bible is said to be wrestling.
-BASKETBALL: The first formal rules were devised in 1892. Initially, players dribbled a soccer ball up and down a court of unspecified dimensions.
-BASEBALL: Alexander Cartwright (1820-1892) of New York invented the modern baseball field in 1845.
-CRICKET: The cricket bat was invented around 1853, the blade made of willow, and a cane handle layered with strips of rubber, tied with twine and covered with rubber to make a grip.
-FOOTBALL: Derived from English game of rugby, American football was started in 1879 with rules instituted by Walter Camp, player and coach at Yale University.
-GOLF: Golf originated from a game played on the coast of Scotland during the 15th century.
